We're halfway through our week at Game Day Central! And what a great Wednesday it was. Click here for today's photos, and check out the Midweek Report on today's video highlights.

Today's Lesson

Today we had three people tell us why they think Jesus is the real hero. These people had seen Jesus dead; they went into his empty tomb, and then saw him alive. Only a true hero could die and then come back to life! They saw his nail scarred hands, and watched him go up to heaven. He promised His spirit would never leave them.

We learned a little code to help us become followers of this hero-Jesus. ABCD...

A - Admit you have sinned-done things wrong
B - Believe in Jesus as God's Son
C - Confess-say out loud that we believe
D - Decide to be baptized

We always seem to have some super-hero we want to be like. Jesus is our Savior and Hero. We're trying to be like Him!

Memory Verse

4's, 5's & K... "Don't give up. Keep thinking about Jesus." Hebrews 12:1-2 "Know that Jesus is alive!" Acts 2:38

1st thru 6th... "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins." Acts 2:38

Meet My Class

Today we're getting to know the 2's and 3's, brought to you by Diana Lamb and Kay Crostreet, and the 2nd Graders, with fearless leaders Amanda Schafer and Bob Davis.

The 2's and 3's "Builders" had a terrific day starting with Play-Doh and marching through the halls on our way to crafts. We learned about Jesus coming back to life and how much we love Him. We played outside for a while, even driving cars (toy cars that is!) We loved our snack of apples, as well as our surprise Sno-Cones!

The 2nd graders arrived with smiles on-all 30 of us! We were happy to see new friends. We started the day at the Memory Station where we earned points for the scripture of the day. Then it was off to the Worship Rally Arena for music and missionary time. Then we heard about our lesson for the day over in drama. It was then back to home room for activities to reinforce the lesson-the ABC's of becoming a Christian...God's plan for our lives. Ask us about it! We also participated in crafts and recreation. We had a wonderful day and can't wait for tomorrow!

Recreation

Today the 1st through 6th grade ran through an obstacle course. Some of the things we ran through were cones, hula hoops, and there were challenges like a Frisbee Catch, crawling through a box, and a baseball relay. There are different obstacles we had to overcome in the different courses. The 4's, 5's, and K's played kickball. In kickball, one person rolls the ball to the kicker, and the kicker tries to kick the ball and runs around the bases without getting tagged out. We had a blast and can't wait to find out what fun craziness tomorrow has in store!

Crafts

What a FUN day in crafts! We made stepping stones with beautiful crosses on them, to remind us of what Jesus did for each one of us. Thanks so much for being wonderful listeners and for being so creative. The craft team wants to send a special thanks to our concrete-mixing men...Jon, Eddy, Jeff and Rob! Check out some of our creations over in today's photos.

Missionary

Are you a missionary? Have you ever wondered if you could share your faith at school without getting in trouble? Today we heard from Michele Shultz and Emily Kramer about the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. We learned that in fact we are missionaries, and we should share our faith with someone who needs to hear about Christ-even at school! FCA lets us share our faith and fellowship with other Christians at school. This organization meets every week at most schools (Lebanon, Western Boone and Zionsville) starting in 6th grade through High School. FCA is a student-lead group that recharges and encourages our faith, so we can all go out and share it with our classmates. FCA is not just for athletes, but for anyone who wants to be involved in a Christian group at school to share their love of Christ.

Totals!

The numbers just keep growing! We had an amazing 238 kids today! Combined with our 117 staff members, we had 355 people at New Hope learning about Jesus! Awesome! We also added $159.61 in offering for a total thus far of $435.41. The 5's and the 1st graders tied today for most bibles brought. The 4th grade Commanders won for most offering by a class, and the Christ-like attitude award went to the 6th grade Servants!

Be sure to invite your family and friends to our Tailgate Party, 6pm this Friday evening. We'll have food, games and music outside from 6 to 7pm. Then it's into the sanctuary for worship with John David Webster, our half-time show and video of the week's activities.

Remember to check out today's pictures and video highlights. Leave a note on the VBS Guestbook or send a photo postcard to invite a friend to the Tailgate Party! Tomorrow is crazy hair day-we'll see you then!
